The Associate Degree in Microbiology is a two-year program that provides foundational knowledge in the study of microorganisms and their role in health, industry, and the environment. The curriculum includes basic microbiology, immunology, and laboratory techniques used in microbial analysis. Students gain practical skills in handling microscopes, culturing microbes, and conducting diagnostic tests. AD Microbiology graduates play a supportive role in laboratories and research settings. Career opportunities include positions as lab assistants, microbiology technicians, and quality control personnel in hospitals, diagnostic labs, food industries, and environmental agencies.

Program Educational Objectives (PEO’s):

The Two year microbiology program is designed in accordance with the guidelines provided by Higher Education Commission, Islamabad, Pakistan to impart the students an insight into the microbial world, their diversity, manipulation and importance in health, agriculture, environment quality for the overall uplift of socio-economic status of community at local and national level.

Program Outcomes:

After successful completion of the Associate Degree the students will have theoretical and practical concepts in basic and applied microbiology. They will be able to identify, isolate, manipulate and culture microbes in the laboratory. The students will gain experience in microbial techniques to be used in analyzing the health and other problems due to microbes.

Eligibility

  • F.Sc (Pre-Medical) or A-Level with equivalence certificate from IBCC, Islamabad with at least 50% marks.
  • Candidates need to pass an entry test or an aptitude interview conducted by the University.

Procedure to Apply In-Person

  • Visit the Admission Office located at the Main Campus in Peshawar.
  • Obtain the Admission Form from the Admission Office.
  • Carefully and accurately complete all sections of the Admission Form.
  • Attach all the required documents and submit the form at the Admission Office.

Procedure to Apply Online

  1. Visit the website: form.suit.edu.pk.
  2. Sign up on the Online Admission Portal by providing the required information.
  3. Sign in to your account using the credentials you created during sign-up.
  4. Browse through the available programs and select the one you wish to apply for.
  5. Fill in your personal details accurately.
  6. Provide all necessary educational information.
  7. Upload clear and readable copies of the required documents.
  8. Download and print the Admission Processing Fee Challan.
  9. Submit the fee at your nearest JS Bank Branch (branch details are available on the portal).
  10. Upload a copy of the paid fee receipt to the portal.
  11. Carefully preview all the entered information and documents.
  12. Submit your application once you are sure everything is correct.
