The Associate Degree in Biotechnology is a two-year program that introduces students to the fundamental principles of biotechnology and its applications in healthcare, agriculture, and industry. The curriculum includes basic courses in molecular biology, genetics, microbiology, and laboratory techniques. Students receive hands-on training in modern lab practices, preparing them for entry-level roles in biotech and research environments. AD Biotechnology graduates support scientific innovation and product development. Career opportunities include roles as lab technicians, research assistants, and quality control personnel in biotech companies, pharmaceutical labs, and research institutions.

Program Educational Objectives (PEO’s):

The two year program is designed in accordance with the guidelines provided by Higher Education Commission, Islamabad, Pakistan in Biotechnology to provide the students an insight to the nucleic acid manipulation, basic cell techniques with their impacts on the human health and environment for overall improvement of socioeconomic status of individuals at local and national level.

Program Outcomes:

After getting AD in Biotechnology, the students will be able to understand various aspects of biotechnology and their utilization for the welfare of human society. They will have capability to use biotechnological techniques in diagnostic and research activities and solution of biotechnological problems.

Eligibility

  • F.Sc (Pre-Medical) or A-Level with equivalence certificate from IBCC, Islamabad with at least 50% marks.
  • Candidates need to pass an entry test or an aptitude interview conducted by the University.

Procedure to Apply In-Person

  • Visit the Admission Office located at the Main Campus in Peshawar.
  • Obtain the Admission Form from the Admission Office.
  • Carefully and accurately complete all sections of the Admission Form.
  • Attach all the required documents and submit the form at the Admission Office.

Procedure to Apply Online

  1. Visit the website: form.suit.edu.pk.
  2. Sign up on the Online Admission Portal by providing the required information.
  3. Sign in to your account using the credentials you created during sign-up.
  4. Browse through the available programs and select the one you wish to apply for.
  5. Fill in your personal details accurately.
  6. Provide all necessary educational information.
  7. Upload clear and readable copies of the required documents.
  8. Download and print the Admission Processing Fee Challan.
  9. Submit the fee at your nearest JS Bank Branch (branch details are available on the portal).
  10. Upload a copy of the paid fee receipt to the portal.
  11. Carefully preview all the entered information and documents.
  12. Submit your application once you are sure everything is correct.
