The Bachelor of Science in Biotechnology is a four-year professional degree that explores the use of living organisms and biological systems to develop products and technologies for various sectors. The program offers a strong foundation in genetics, molecular biology, biochemistry, and cellular biology, along with practical training in modern laboratories. Students are prepared to work on innovations in medicine, agriculture, and environmental sustainability. BS Biotechnology graduates play a key role in scientific research and industrial development. Career paths include positions in biotech industries, pharmaceutical companies, research labs, and academic institutions.

Program Educational Objectives (PEO’s):

To ensure students understanding the principles and methodologies of biotechnology, including genetic engineering, molecular biology, and bioinformatics.

To equip students with practical laboratory skills and hands-on experience with modern biotechnological tools and techniques.

To encourage students to engage in research projects, fostering innovation and the ability to conduct independent scientific investigations.

To develop an understanding of the ethical, legal, and social implications of biotechnological advancements.

To prepare students for careers in biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, healthcare, agriculture, and environmental sectors.

Program Outcomes:

Graduates will be able to demonstrate and explain the molecular mechanisms underlying different biotechnological processes and applications.

Graduates will be competent to perform standard biotechnological laboratory techniques, including DNA/RNA extraction, PCR, gel electrophoresis, cloning, and sequencing.

Graduates will have depth of knowledge of designing and conducting experiments, analyze the data, and interpret results in biotechnological research.

Graduates will emphasize the ethical, legal and social issues related to biotechnology, genetic modification, cloning, and bioethics.

Graduates will exhibit professionalism, teamwork, and effective communication skills in a collaborative environment.

Eligibility

4 Years: F.Sc (Pre-Medical) or A-Level with equivalence certificate from IBCC, Islamabad with at least 50% marks.
Candidates with Diploma in relevant field with at least 50% marks in annual system or 2.00 CGPA on the scale of 4.00 in semester system duly registered by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Medical Faculty with equivalency certificate from IBCC Islamabad are eligible to apply.
2 Years: Candidates holding Associate Degree in relevant discipline with at least 2.00 CGPA on the scale of 4.00 from any recognized university/institution will join from the 5th semester of their degree program. The scheme from 5th till 8th Semester will be followed.
2.5 Years: Candidates holding Bachelor degree (14 years of education) with at least 50% marks in annual system or Associate Degree in other than relevant discipline with at least 2.00 CGPA on the scale of 4.00 from any recognized university/institution will join from the Bridge semester of their degree program. After Bridge Semester, the scheme from 5th till 8th Semester will be followed.
Candidates need to pass an entry test or an aptitude interview conducted by the University.

Download and print the Admission Processing Fee Challan.
Submit the fee at your nearest JS Bank Branch (branch details are available on the portal).
Upload a copy of the paid fee receipt to the portal.
Carefully preview all the entered information and documents.
Submit your application once you are sure everything is correct.
