The Bachelor of Science in Surgical Technology is a four-year professional degree designed to train students in the preparation and management of surgical procedures. The program covers surgical instruments, sterile techniques, patient care, and operating room protocols. Students gain practical experience by assisting in real-time surgeries under the supervision of experienced surgeons and healthcare teams. BS Surgical Technology graduates play a vital role in ensuring safe and efficient surgical environments. Career opportunities include roles as surgical technologists, operating room assistants, and sterile processing technicians in hospitals, surgical centers, and specialty clinics.

Program Educational Objectives (PEO’s):

To have in-depth knowledge of Anatomy, Physiology, Biochemistry and Pathology of human body.

To enable the students to have necessary technical skills to, manage & maintain the OT cleanliness & sterilization of surgical instruments.

To inculcate ethical principles and professional standards in students making them useful members of the surgical team.

To keep abreast with academic research to have new knowledge undergoing in the field.

To enable the students to look after the sucker machines etc. They are also trained to prepare surgical trolley according to the due surgical procedure for optimal patient care.

Program Outcomes:

Graduates will demonstrate in-depth knowledge of Anatomy, Physiology, Biochemistry and Pathology of human body.

Graduates will exhibit proficiency to manage & maintain the OT cleanliness & sterilization of surgical instruments and maintenance of the sucker machines etc. They are also able to prepare surgical trolley according to the due surgical procedure.

Graduates will adhere to the highest ethical standards demonstrating professionalism, effective communication and commitment to patient safety and quality care.

Graduates will be able to work as an effective member of surgical team.

Graduates will engage in continuous professional development in the field of surgery to improve patient care.

Eligibility

  • Candidates with F.Sc (Pre-Medical, Surgical/OT) or A-Levels with equivalency certificate from IBCC Islamabad with at least 50% marks are eligible to apply.
  • Candidates with a Diploma in the relevant field with at least 50% marks in the annual system or 2.00 CGPA on the scale of 4.00 in the semester system, duly registered by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Medical Faculty with equivalency certificate from IBCC Islamabad are eligible to apply.
  • Candidates will have to appear in an entry test to be conducted by any Registered Testing Agency or University.
  • Candidates will appear in an interview to be conducted by the University.

Procedure to Apply In-Person

  • Visit the Admission Office located at the Main Campus in Peshawar.
  • Obtain the Admission Form from the Admission Office.
  • Carefully and accurately complete all sections of the Admission Form.
  • Attach all the required documents and submit the form at the Admission Office.

  2. Sign up on the Online Admission Portal by providing the required information.
  3. Sign in to your account using the credentials you created during sign-up.
  4. Browse through the available programs and select the one you wish to apply for.
  5. Fill in your personal details accurately.
  6. Provide all necessary educational information.
  7. Upload clear and readable copies of the required documents.
  8. Download and print the Admission Processing Fee Challan.
  9. Submit the fee at your nearest JS Bank Branch (branch details are available on the portal).
  10. Upload a copy of the paid fee receipt to the portal.
  11. Carefully preview all the entered information and documents.
  12. Submit your application once you are sure everything is correct.
