The Academic Council of Sarhad University of Science and Information Technology is the highest academic body of the institution, established in accordance with the provisions laid out in the University Charter. It plays a pivotal role in shaping the academic vision and direction of the University, ensuring that all educational and scholarly activities align with the highest standards of quality and integrity.
As the principal academic authority, the Academic Council holds the responsibility to formulate and maintain comprehensive policies related to teaching, research, publications, and examinations. It is empowered to lay down the standards for curricula, academic programs, and instructional methodologies that contribute to the University’s mission of excellence in higher education. In addition, the Council oversees the implementation of innovative academic initiatives, quality assurance processes, and faculty development strategies.

The 11th meeting of the Academic Council of Sarhad University of Science and Information Technology (SUIT), Peshawar, was held on 5th September, 2023, under the chairmanship of the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Salim Ur Rehman. The meeting was attended by esteemed members of the Council, who deliberated on various academic matters. Key decisions included the approval of revised curricula and the introduction of new academic programs in emerging fields.
