The Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) is a professional degree that focuses on the diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation of movement disorders. This five-year program equips graduates with expertise in physiotherapy techniques to improve patient mobility and quality of life. DPT professionals can work in hospitals, rehabilitation centers, sports clinics, and private practice. Career opportunities include roles as physiotherapists, rehabilitation specialists, and consultants in fitness and wellness.

Program Objectives (PO’s):

To Manifest in-depth knowledge of the basic and clinical sciences relevant to physical therapy, both in their fundamental context and in their application to the discipline of physical therapy.

To equip the students with theoretical foundations of knowledge to the practice of physical therapy; evaluate and clarify new or evolving theory relevant to physical therapy.

To Develop and utilize the process of critical thinking and inquiry, particularly focused on the improvement of the practice of physical therapy and the delivery of health care.

To engage the students with in reflective practice through sound clinical decision making, critical self-assessment and commitment to lifelong learning.

To prepare graduates for leadership, management, and communication skills to effectively participate in physical therapy practice and the health care team.

To develop the professional and social skills to adapt to changing health care environments to effectively provide physical therapy care

Program Outcomes:

Graduate will involves knowledge, understanding, and intellectual skills. In the DPT curriculum, this domain is emphasized in areas such as:

Graduate will exhibits Theoretical knowledge: Anatomy, physiology, pathology, biomechanics, pharmacology, and neurology.

Graduate will apply Clinical reasoning and critical thinking: Applying theoretical knowledge to assess, diagnose, and develop treatment plans for patients.

Graduate will be expert in Research and evidence-based practice: Understanding and applying scientific literature to inform patient care.

Graduate will be expert and leadership quality Communication skills: The ability to effectively communicate with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals.

Eligibility

  • Candidates with F.Sc (Pre-Medical) or A-Levels with equivalency certificate from IBCC Islamabad with at least 60% marks are eligible to apply.
  • Candidates with a Diploma in the relevant field with at least 60% marks in the annual system or 3.00 CGPA on the scale of 4.00 in the semester system, duly registered by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Medical Faculty with equivalency certificate from IBCC Islamabad are eligible to apply.
  • Candidates will have to appear in an entry test to be conducted by any Registered Testing Agency or University.
  • Candidates will appear in an interview to be conducted by the University.

Procedure to Apply In-Person

  • Visit the Admission Office located at the Main Campus in Peshawar.
  • Obtain the Admission Form from the Admission Office.
  • Carefully and accurately complete all sections of the Admission Form.
  • Attach all the required documents and submit the form at the Admission Office.

Procedure to Apply Online

  1. Visit the website: form.suit.edu.pk.
  2. Sign up on the Online Admission Portal by providing the required information.
  3. Sign in to your account using the credentials you created during sign-up.
  4. Browse through the available programs and select the one you wish to apply for.
  5. Fill in your personal details accurately.
  6. Provide all necessary educational information.
  7. Upload clear and readable copies of the required documents.
  8. Download and print the Admission Processing Fee Challan.
  9. Submit the fee at your nearest JS Bank Branch (branch details are available on the portal).
  10. Upload a copy of the paid fee receipt to the portal.
  11. Carefully preview all the entered information and documents.
  12. Submit your application once you are sure everything is correct.
