The Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) 1.5 Years program is designed for individuals who have already completed a BS (Hons) or 16 years of education in a relevant discipline and wish to pursue a professional teaching qualification. This intensive program focuses on advanced teaching methodologies, educational leadership, classroom management, and assessment techniques. It also includes a strong component of teaching practice in real classroom settings. The B.Ed 1.5 Years program equips graduates with the skills and knowledge needed to become effective educators and academic leaders. Career opportunities include roles as subject teachers, education officers, curriculum developers, and school administrators.

Program Objectives :

The B.Ed (1.5 years) program will enable the prospective teacher to:

  • Master learner-centered and activity-based teaching.
  • Replace traditional and obsolete teaching methodology with innovative instructional approaches.
  • Play an active role in enhancing the literacy rate in the country.
  • Compete and contribute meaningfully in the field of education.
  • Address societal problems through thoughts and practices.

Program Outcomes:

  • To utilize skills in the field of education, teaching and teacher training.
  • To gain the ability to work in groups and different social setups.
  • To understand and utilize the basic knowledge of educational philosophy, educational psychology, management, curriculum and evaluation, along with research.
  • To bring into practice theoretical and conceptual knowledge.
  • To express thoughts and ideas through oral, written and modern means of communication.

Eligibility

  • Candidates with 16 years of education such as BSCS / BE / MBBS / BDS / MBA / MA or an equivalent degree, with at least 2.00 CGPA on a scale of 4.00 in the semester system or 45% marks in the annual system, in disciplines other than Education, are eligible to apply.
  • Candidates need to pass an entry test or aptitude interview conducted by the university.
