The Bachelor of Science in Computer Science is a four-year degree program that focuses on the theoretical foundations and practical applications of computing and programming. The curriculum covers core areas such as algorithms, data structures, software development, databases, artificial intelligence, and cybersecurity. Students gain hands-on experience in designing, developing, and testing software solutions for real-world problems. BS Computer Science graduates are equipped with the skills needed to thrive in today’s technology-driven world. Career opportunities include roles as software developers, data analysts, system architects, cybersecurity specialists, and IT consultants in both public and private sectors.

Program Educational Objectives (PEO’s):

The Department of Computer Sciences at Sarhad University Peshawar has adopted the following three program educational objectives (PEOs). All of the PEOs have been devised keeping in view the vision and mission of the university and the professional requirements in the domain of Computer Science. PEO’s are aligned with United Nation SDG’s.

PEO 01: Computing Foundation: Graduates will possess a strong academic foundation and analytical skills to solve complex computing problems, leveraging comprehensive computer science knowledge.

PEO 02: Professional Growth: : Graduates will excel in designing and developing innovative computing solutions using modern tools and technologies, while effectively working both independently and as part of diverse teams.

PEO 03: Societal Responsibility: Graduates will demonstrate effective communication skills, uphold ethical standards and professionalism, contribute positively to society, and engage in life-long learning to adapt to evolving technological advancements.

Graduate Attributes:

GA-1 Academic Education: Completion of an accredited program of study designed to prepare graduates as computing professionals.

GA-2 Knowledge for Solving Computing Problems: Apply knowledge of computing fundamentals, knowledge of a computing specialization, and mathematics, science, and domain knowledge appropriate for the computing specialization to the abstraction and conceptualization of computing models from defined problems and requirements.

GA-3 Problem Analysis: Identify and solve complex computing problems reaching substantiated conclusions using fundamental principles of mathematics, computing sciences, and relevant domain disciplines.

GA-4 Design/Development of Solutions: Design and evaluate solutions for complex computing problems, and design and evaluate systems, components, or processes that meet specified needs.

GA-5 Modern Tool Usage: Create, select, or adapt and then apply appropriate techniques, resources, and modern computing tools to complex computing activities, with an understanding of the limitations.

GA-6 Individual and Teamwork: Function effectively as an individual and as a member or leader of a team in multidisciplinary settings.

GA-7 Communication: Communicate effectively with the computing community about complex computing activities by being able to comprehend and write effective reports, design documentation, make and understand clear instructions. Effective presentations, and give

GA-8 Computing Professionalism and Society: Understand and assess societal, health, safety, legal, and cultural issues within local and global contexts, and the consequential responsibilities relevant to professional computing practice

GA-9 Ethics: Understand and commit to professional ethics, responsibilities, and norms of professional computing practice.

GA-10 Life-long Learning: Recognize the need, and have the ability, to engage in independent learning for continual development as a computing professional.

Eligibility

  • 4 Years: Intermediate (Pre-Engineering/Computer Science/Pre-Medical) with at least 50% marks or A-Levels with Equivalency Certificate from IBCC Islamabad or an equivalent Certificate from a recognized institution.
    • Pre-Medical students must pass deficiency courses of Mathematics of 6 Credit Hours within the first year of their regular studies.
  • 2 Years: Candidates who have secured Associate Degree (semester system) in a relevant field with at least 45% marks or 2.00 CGPA on a scale of 4.00 from a recognized institution. The scheme from 5th till 8th Semester will be followed.
  • Candidates need to pass an Entry Test/Aptitude interview conducted by the University.

  • Visit the Admission Office located at the Main Campus in Peshawar.
  • Obtain the Admission Form from the Admission Office.
  • Carefully and accurately complete all sections of the Admission Form.
  • Attach all the required documents and submit the form at the Admission Office.

Procedure to Apply Online

  1. Visit the website: form.suit.edu.pk.
  2. Sign up on the Online Admission Portal by providing the required information.
  3. Sign in to your account using the credentials you created during sign-up.
  4. Browse through the available programs and select the one you wish to apply for.
  5. Fill in your personal details accurately.
  6. Provide all necessary educational information.
  7. Upload clear and readable copies of the required documents.
  8. Download and print the Admission Processing Fee Challan.
  9. Submit the fee at your nearest JS Bank Branch (branch details are available on the portal).
  10. Upload a copy of the paid fee receipt to the portal.
  11. Carefully preview all the entered information and documents.
  12. Submit your application once you are sure everything is correct.
