The Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is a 4-year professional degree that prepares students for practice as Registered Nurses. The program combines clinical skills, critical thinking, and professional values to deliver evidence-based care across all healthcare settings.

With a focus on risk mitigation, disease prevention, health restoration, and health promotion, the BSN equips graduates to care for diverse populations at every level of care. Career paths include roles such as staff nurse, community health nurse, school nurse, and home health care nurse. The BSN also provides a strong foundation for advanced studies and leadership roles in nursing, both nationally and internationally.

BS Nursing Program is accredited by the Pakistan Nursing and Midwifery Council.

Program Objectives:

To prepare competent, committed and knowledgeable nurse clinicians (hospital and community setting).
To educate nurses with the appropriate knowledge, skills and attitudes and with clinical competency.
To integrate evidence-based science into clinical practice to provide holistic care for individuals, families and communities.
To enable nurses to meet future challenges, including changes in technology, confronting health care in the 21st century.
To initiate a leadership role in the planning, implementation and evaluation of individual, family and community care.
To adhere to an established pattern of professional practices within the professional, religious, cultural, legal and ethical boundaries of Pakistan.
To act as a change agent to promote quality improvement in the performance of nursing responsibilities.

Program Outcomes:

At the completion of the BSN program, a graduate of the Institute of Nursing Sciences, SUIT, will be able to:

Facilitate safe, holistic and effective patient/family-centered care outcomes through use of evidence-based research and to promote and maintain health, prevent disease, and manage illness.
Demonstrate professional accountability and responsibility for nursing judgments and actions within an ethical and legal framework.
Demonstrate leadership in the provision and coordination of safe, cost-effective and high quality nursing care.
Advocate for patients, families, communities, and the nursing profession, applying values and utilizing an ethical framework, clinical reasoning, and cultural competence.
Provide entry-level professional nursing care to clients across the life span in a variety of health care settings.
Promote a culture of caring to provide holistic, compassionate, culturally competent care.

Eligibility

Candidates with F.Sc (Pre-Medical) or A-Levels with equivalency certificate from IBCC Islamabad with at least 50% marks are eligible to apply.
Candidates will have to appear in an entry test to be conducted by any registered Testing Agency or University.
Candidates will appear in an interview to be conducted by the University.
Maximum age limit for candidates is 25 years.
