Oric Activities

1. The Office of Research, Innovation, and Commercialization (ORIC) SUIT, in collaboration with the Intellectual Property Organization (IPO) Pakistan and PASTIC, successfully organized a one-day workshop on "Patent and Copyright Application Filing" held on May, 5, 2025.

Keynote speakers included:

2. Mr. Saif Ullah, Director, IPO Pakistan
3. Mr. Ghulam Mujtaba Kamal, Assistant Controller of Patents, IPO Pakistan
4. Prof. Dr. Muhammad Shakoor, UET Peshawar.

The event provided valuable insights into intellectual property rights and the application process, empowering researchers and innovators.

2. Sarhad University of Sciences & Information Technology under the arranges of Office of Research, Innovation & Commercialization (ORIC), signed MoU with SMILE Psychological Clinic Sign MoU to Promote Mental Health and Student Training Peshawar, April 16, 2025 – Sarhad University of Science and Information Technology, Peshawar, and SMILE Psychological Clinic and Counseling Centre Peshawar have entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to collaborate on various initiatives aimed at promoting mental health awareness, student training, and professional development.The MoU was formally signed by Mr. Nasir Khan, Registrar of Sarhad University of Sciences & Information Technology, and Mrs. Khoula Ismail, Executive Director of SMILE Psychological Clinic and Counseling Centre, during a ceremony held at the university campus.

3. The Office of Research, Innovation & Commercialization (ORIC), Sarhad University of Science and Information Technology, Peshawar, organized a seminar on April 17, 2025 on “Safe and Informed Migration” in the university’s video conference room.Mr. Hameed Ullah Khan, Coordinator and Mr. Muhammad Hussain Abdali, Counselor from the Migrant Resource Centre (MRC), Peshawar were guest speakers. They shared valuable information about migration processes, risks associated with illegal migration, and support systems related to migration process, emphasizing the importance of accessing accurate information and following legal procedures. Following the seminar, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between Sarhad University and the Migrant Resource Centre Peshawar. The MoU was signed by Mr. Muhammad Nasir, Registrar SUIT, and Mr. Hameed Ullah Khan, Coordinator MRC.This partnership aims to conduct regular training sessions, joint awareness campaigns, and collaborative initiatives focused on promoting safe migration practices and enhancing career opportunities for students abroad.

4. The Office of Research Innovation and Commercialization, Sarhad University of Science and Information Technology (SUIT) Peshawar organized an awareness seminar on 13th February, 2025. This seminar aimed to raise awareness among students and young professionals about the incredible opportunities and activities that would take place at Dawn Fest 2025, scheduled for 19th February, 2025, at the Alhamra Hotel in Mardan.

5. The Office of Research, Innovation, and Commercialization (ORIC), SUIT organized a seminar on February 11, 2025, focusing on Stress Management and Self-Control. Expert speakers Dr. Khoula Ismail and Dr. AQ Khan shared their expertise, providing attendees with valuable insights on maintaining mental well-being, navigating life’s challenges, and enhancing emotional health.

6. Office of Research, Innovation and Commercialization, SUIT has arranged a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on 30th January, 2025 with Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Women University (SBBWU) Peshawar to foster academic collaboration and research partnerships. This partnership aims to facilitate joint research projects, academic exchange programs, and the sharing of expertise in the fields of Life Sciences, Social Sciences, Management Sciences, and Computer Sciences. The collaboration will enhance research capabilities, promote faculty and student development, and encourage interdisciplinary knowledge-sharing between both institutions.

7. The Office of Research, Innovation, and Commercialization (ORIC), SUIT organized a one-day visit for engineering and computer science students, along with their respective faculty members on Tuesday, 14th January 2025. The tour allowed them to see firsthand the advancements in technology and manufacturing processes in the field of IT and software development.

8. The Office of Research Innovation and Commercialization, Sarhad University of Science and Information Technology (SUIT) Peshawar visited on 7th January, 2025, Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Women University (SBBWU) Peshawar, to promote collaboration in research, innovation, and entrepreneurship. The visit included engaging discussions on research grant management, academia-industry linkages, and fostering entrepreneurship through incubation centers. Both teams also explored potential collaborative projects and toured the university’s state-of-the-art facilities.

9. The Office of Research, Innovation & Commercialization (ORIC -SUIT) organized a one-day seminar on 26th December, 2024 on “Women’s Empowerment through Entrepreneurship”. The resource person was Ms. Afshan Khan, Afshan Khan, Founder and CEO FastMove Packages, an Industrialist, Designer and Entrepreneur. The objective of this seminar was to provide undergraduate and postgraduate students with insights into how entrepreneurship can serve as a powerful tool for women's empowerment, challenges and opportunities women face in the entrepreneurial world, as well as different strategies to overcome barriers and create sustainable business ventures.

10. The Office of Research Innovation and Commercialization at Sarhad University organized a series of seminars in collaboration with various departments. The seminars covered a range of topics, including:

• Ek Roza Seminar: Tehqiqi Maharat Aur Marahel Tehqiq (11/07/2024)
• Research Skills for Students: Navigating the Path to Academic Excellence (18/07/2024)

This seminar focused on enhancing students' research abilities, particularly in quantitative research, to improve their academic performance and foster critical thinking. These sessions aimed to equip students with essential skills and knowledge for their research endeavors.

11. The Office of Research Innovation and Commercialization at Sarhad University, Peshawar (SUIT), organized a one-day visit to the Career Fest/Product Expo 2024 at Pak-Austria Fachhochschule: Institute of Applied Sciences and Technology (PAF-IAST) on May 29th, 2024. The aim was to provide SUIT students with valuable exposure and networking opportunities, allowing them to explore various career paths and interact with professionals from academia and industry. This visit significantly enriched the educational experience of the students and is expected to foster future collaborations between SUIT and PAF-IAST.

12. The Office of Research, Innovation, and Commercialization at Sarhad University of Science and Information Technology, Peshawar, organized a one-day Interdepartmental Student Projects Exhibition on May 14, 2024.The purpose of the Interdepartmental Project Exhibition was to create a platform for teams from different departments/institutes to present their ongoing and final-year projects, share insights, and celebrate the achievements of their hard work. The event not only showcased the diverse talent within the organization but also promoted departmental collaboration.
