The Government of Pakistan gives highest priority to higher education in the country. In order to meet the ever-growing demand of the society, especially in higher education and research. The universities in Pakistan both public and private sectors are being encouraged to make their contribution through good quality, learning and research for the development and progress of Pakistan.
For the last 18 years, the Higher Education Commission, (HEC) has launched a number of programs and reforms to enable the Universities to pay an effective role in the socio-economic development of a country. The parents and students certainly expect quality education development of a country. We must, therefore, focus on imparting quality education for building economy of Pakistan on knowledge, and compete globally.
It is heartening to know that Sarhad University of Science and Information Technology, Peshawar, has been placed in category “W-3” by the Higher Education Commission, in relation to the fulfillment of requirements prescribed by the HEC. SUIT, Peshawar has no doubt achieved remarkable landmarks in a short span of time by providing state of the art laboratory facilities, launching of contemporary degree programs in the field of Engineering, Pharmacy, management Science, Computer Science, Information Technology and Social Sciences and establishing industrial linkages are well thought out step taken by SUIT, Peshawar in the direction.
Distance Education Program launched in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) is yet another achievement of Sarhad University, through which it is imparting quality education to the youth, who cannot afford regular education. Such efforts of SUIT, Peshawar will not only benefit the un-educated youth academically, but will also help them financially to earn their livelihood with respect and dignity.
I hope the university will uphold the trust held by students and their parents. I further hope that the university will continue with its efforts for promotion of high standard higher education and research.
