The Master of Public Health (MPH) is a professional postgraduate degree focused on improving the health and well-being of communities through education, research, and health policy. The program covers key areas such as epidemiology, biostatistics, environmental health, health policy and management, and behavioral sciences.
Students are trained to assess health risks, develop intervention strategies, and implement public health programs. Emphasis is placed on evidence-based practice and community engagement.
Graduates are prepared for careers in healthcare institutions, government agencies, NGOs, and international health organizations. Career paths include public health officer, epidemiologist, health educator, policy analyst, and program manager.

The graduates of the MPH program are expected:

To solve health-related problems within the financial, socio-cultural, environmental and political framework of Pakistan and its surrounding regions.

To analyze public health history, philosophy and values (national and international) as benchmark for guidance.

To plan, manage, monitor and evaluate interventions in the field of public health.

To communicate public health messages to diverse audience effectively.

To advocate sound public health policies and practices.

Program Outcomes:

After completion of MPH program at this university, the graduates will be able:

To assess the biological, physical, social, economical, psychological factors and political determinants of a health issue and how they contribute to population health and health inequities

To design, conduct, analyze and interpret the results of relevant studies, projects and programs.

To analyze/ health care systems and policies, at local and international levels.

To critical awareness of quantitative and qualitative research methods and ethical principles in describing and assessing a population's health.

To develop the skills to plan, design, implement, analyze and interpret epidemiological studies.

Comprehensive understanding into the global drivers of reform in health systems and their potential impacts on the future public health policy directions in both developed and developing nations.

Exchange and communicate health information to audiences from diverse backgrounds.

Eligibility

  • Sixteen years (16 years) of education in the following fields: MBBS,MD,BDS, or equivalent qualification (Recognized by PM&DC), BS Nursing (04 years) or BSc Post RN (Recognized by PNC), BS (Prosthetic and Orthotic Sciences), BS Paramedics, BS Vision Sciences, BS Human Nutrition, BSc Physiotherapy (04 years), Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT), Pharmacy (Pharm-B, Pharm-D) (Recognized by Pharmacy Council), DVM, Masters in Psychology, Statistics and Social Sciences
  • Applicant needs to pass GRE/ HAT/ SU-GAT (General) to be conducted by NTS/ETEA/any Registered Testing Agency or University, with at least 50% cumulative score and to clear departmental interview at the time of admission.

Procedure to Apply In-Person

  • Visit the Admission Office located at the Main Campus in Peshawar.
  • Obtain the Admission Form from the Admission Office.
  • Carefully and accurately complete all sections of the Admission Form.
  • Attach all the required documents and submit the form at the Admission Office.

  2. Sign up on the Online Admission Portal by providing the required information.
  3. Sign in to your account using the credentials you created during sign-up.
  4. Browse through the available programs and select the one you wish to apply for.
  5. Fill in your personal details accurately.
  6. Provide all necessary educational information.
  7. Upload clear and readable copies of the required documents.
  8. Download and print the Admission Processing Fee Challan.
  9. Submit the fee at your nearest JS Bank Branch (branch details are available on the portal).
  10. Upload a copy of the paid fee receipt to the portal.
  11. Carefully preview all the entered information and documents.
  12. Submit your application once you are sure everything is correct.
