The Associate Degree in Islamic Studies is a two-year program that provides foundational knowledge of Islamic teachings, history, and culture. The curriculum includes courses in Quranic studies, Hadith, Fiqh (Islamic jurisprudence), Islamic history, Arabic language, and contemporary Islamic thought. The program aims to enhance students' understanding of Islam and its application in modern contexts. It also develops critical thinking, ethical reasoning, and communication skills. Graduates can pursue further studies or careers as teaching assistants, religious educators, researchers, and community support workers in educational and religious institutions.

Program Educational Objectives (PEO’s):

Equip students with a comprehensive understanding of Islamic foundational texts, including the Quran, Hadith, Fiqh, and Islamic history, while fostering an appreciation for diverse Islamic perspectives.

Develop analytical and research skills to evaluate Islamic teachings and their relevance to contemporary challenges using both classical and modern academic approaches.

Instill Islamic ethical values, promoting social justice, compassion, and responsible citizenship in multicultural and diverse societies.

Enhance communication skills to articulate Islamic perspectives effectively in academic, social, and professional contexts while encouraging interfaith and intercultural dialogue.

Program Outcomes:

Comprehensively understand Islamic foundational texts, including the Quran, Hadith, Fiqh, and Islamic history, enabling them to analyze and interpret these sources with scholarly rigor. They will be able to apply traditional Islamic knowledge to contemporary issues while respecting the diversity of Islamic thought.

Develop the ability to analyze and evaluate Islamic teachings and their relevance in addressing modern challenges. They will be equipped to engage in independent research, employing both classical Islamic methodologies and contemporary academic approaches to solve problems and contribute to scholarly debates.

Embody Islamic ethical principles and demonstrate a commitment to social justice, compassion, and community service. They will be prepared to act as responsible citizens, promoting peace, tolerance, and mutual respect in multicultural and diverse settings.

Articulate Islamic perspectives effectively in academic, social, and professional contexts. They will be capable of engaging in meaningful interfaith and intercultural dialogues, contributing to the promotion of understanding and harmony among diverse communities.

Eligibility

  • An intermediate certificate with at least 45% marks or A level with an equivalency certificate from IBCC Islamabad or an equivalency certificate from a recognized institute.
  • The candidates having Sanvia-Khasa certificates from approved Wafaqs are allowed admission, if they fulfill the requirement defined by IBCC w.r.t 12 years qualification.
  • Candidates must pass an entry test and an aptitude interview conducted by the university.

Procedure to Apply In-Person

  • Visit the Admission Office located at the Main Campus in Peshawar.
  • Obtain the Admission Form from the Admission Office.
  • Carefully and accurately complete all sections of the Admission Form.
  • Attach all the required documents and submit the form at the Admission Office.

Procedure to Apply Online

  1. Visit the website: form.suit.edu.pk.
  2. Sign up on the Online Admission Portal by providing the required information.
  3. Sign in to your account using the credentials you created during sign-up.
  4. Browse through the available programs and select the one you wish to apply for.
  5. Fill in your personal details accurately.
  6. Provide all necessary educational information.
  7. Upload clear and readable copies of the required documents.
  8. Download and print the Admission Processing Fee Challan.
  9. Submit the fee at your nearest JS Bank Branch (branch details are available on the portal).
  10. Upload a copy of the paid fee receipt to the portal.
  11. Carefully preview all the entered information and documents.
  12. Submit your application once you are sure everything is correct.
