The Associate Degree in Islamic Studies is a two-year program that provides foundational knowledge of Islamic teachings, history, and culture. The curriculum includes courses in Quranic studies, Hadith, Fiqh (Islamic jurisprudence), Islamic history, Arabic language, and contemporary Islamic thought. The program aims to enhance students' understanding of Islam and its application in modern contexts. It also develops critical thinking, ethical reasoning, and communication skills. Graduates can pursue further studies or careers as teaching assistants, religious educators, researchers, and community support workers in educational and religious institutions.

Program Educational Objectives (PEOs):

PEO-1: Graduates will possess foundational knowledge of Islamic teachings derived from the Quran, Hadith, Fiqh, and Islamic history, enabling them to understand the basic principles of Islam.
PEO-2: Graduates will be able to apply Islamic ethical values and teachings in their personal, social, and professional lives to promote responsible citizenship and moral conduct.
PEO-3: Graduates will demonstrate basic analytical and communication skills to discuss Islamic perspectives on contemporary social issues.
PEO-4: Graduates will be prepared for further academic studies in Islamic Studies or related disciplines and for contributing positively to society through community awareness and service.

Program Learning Outcomes (PLOs):

PLO-1: Demonstrate basic knowledge of Quran, Hadith, Fiqh, and Islamic history.
PLO-2: Understand and explain Islamic beliefs, teachings, and ethical values.
PLO-3: Apply analytical and critical thinking to understand contemporary issues in the light of Islamic teachings.
PLO-4: Communicate Islamic knowledge effectively in academic and social contexts.
PLO-5: Demonstrate ethical behavior, tolerance, and social responsibility according to Islamic principles.

Eligibility

An Intermediate certificate with at least 45% marks, or A-level with an equivalency certificate from IBCC Islamabad, or an equivalency certificate from a recognized institute.
Candidates having Sanvia-Khasa certificates from approved Wafaqs are allowed admission if they fulfill the requirement defined by IBCC with respect to 12-year qualification.
Candidates must pass an entry test and an aptitude interview conducted by the university.
