Program overview

The BS Education (2 Years) Content-Based program is designed for individuals who have already completed 14 years of education (such as an Associate Degree or BA/BSc) and wish to specialize in subject-specific teaching. This program emphasizes both advanced content knowledge in a chosen subject area and effective teaching methodologies. The curriculum includes educational psychology, assessment techniques, curriculum planning, and classroom management, along with focused subject content. Students also gain practical experience through teaching practicum. Graduates are well-prepared for teaching positions in secondary and higher secondary schools, as well as roles in curriculum development and academic coordination.

Eligibility

Candidates having an Associate Degree in Education with at least 45% marks in the Annual System, or 2.00 CGPA on a scale of 4.00 in the semester system from any recognized university / DAI, are eligible to apply.

Program Objectives and Program Outcomes

 

Program Objectives :

The program equips prospective teachers with the basic knowledge and skills of the field of education and with content knowledge of selected disciplines in three streams: (1) Biological Science, (2) Languages, (3) Physical Sciences.

Program Outcomes:

After completing the program, the prospective teacher will be able to:

  • Gain an insight into the basic knowledge of education.
  • Internalize the conceptual understanding of the selected disciplines.
  • Utilize pedagogic skills in practical teaching.
  • Gain and use managerial knowledge in education administration.
  • Practice quality research in education.
