Program overview
The Bachelor of Studies in Urdu is a four-year degree program that provides an in-depth study of the Urdu language, literature, and cultural heritage. The curriculum includes classical and modern Urdu poetry, prose, literary criticism, linguistics, and the history of Urdu literature. Students develop advanced reading, writing, and analytical skills while exploring the rich traditions and evolving trends of Urdu literature. The program prepares graduates for careers in education, media, publishing, and translation. Career opportunities include roles as Urdu teachers, content writers, editors, translators, journalists, and researchers in educational institutions, publishing houses, media outlets, and cultural organizations.
Eligibility
- 4 Years: Candidates holding an Intermediate certificate (or A-Level with IBCC equivalency) with at least 45% marks from a recognized board/institution are eligible to apply.
- 2.5 Years: Candidates holding an AD in Urdu (Associate Degree in Urdu, 2 years) with at least 2.00/4.00 CGPA from a recognized university are eligible to apply. After completing the 5th–8th semester scheme, the degree is awarded.
- 2 Years: Candidates holding an Associate Degree in a relevant discipline with at least 45% marks (annual system) or 2.00/4.00 CGPA (semester system) from a recognized institution are eligible to apply. After the Bridge Semester, the scheme from the 5th till 8th Semester will be followed.
- Candidates will be required to pass an entry test or an aptitude interview conducted by the university.
