In order to review the restoration of professional programs previously offered by the University through Distance Education Centers (DECs), the following team of experts constituted by the HEC, Islamabad visited the Main Campus on 17th November, 2022.
1. Dr. Hassan Khaliq Qureshi, School of Electrical Engineering & Computer Sciences (SEECS), NUST, Islamabad.
2. Dr. Mazhar Iqbal, National Institute of Biotechnology and Genetics Engineering (NIGBE), Faisalabad.
3. Mr. Furqan Ahmed Siddiqui, Institute of Rehabilitation Sciences, Foundation University, Islamabad.
4. Mr. Hakim Ali Talpur, Director (Accreditation), Higher Education Commission, Islamabad.
5. Mr. Muhammad Idrees, Assistant Director (Accreditation) Higher Education Commission, Islamabad.
The high ranking officials of the University including the Vice Chancellor, Registrar, Controller of Finances, Controller of Examinations, Director General-Distance Learning Management, Director Quality Enhancement Cell , Director Admissions and Heads of Departments from Civil, Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, SIAHS and Technology were also present in the meeting. The HEC team was given a detailed presentation by the Director, Quality Enhancement Cell regarding the operation of existing DECs and the improvements made by the University for advancement of Distance Education through the launch of LMS and dissemination of educational contents to the students through video lectures. The members of the team were informed that the University has all the potential to offer Professional programs of Engineering Technology and Allied Health Sciences in the DE mode through blended teaching using the LMS tool deployed by the University and practical training to be provided by the Tutors at DECs.
The HEC team also visited the LMS Section, Studios, Library, Labs of Engineering and Health Sciences, Examination Section (Distance Education), Directorate of Distance Learning Management and other allied facilities at Main Campus.
Meaningful discussions were held during the visit and
the efforts made by the University at Main Campus were applauded by the HEC
team.
