Award Distribution Ceremony for the 2-Day Entrepreneurial Education Summit was held in Governor’s House, Peshawar, last night.
Governor, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Haji Ghulam Ali, was the Chief Guest.
Provincial Ministers, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Qasim Jan, Dr. Najeebullah, Chairman, HEC, Islamabad Prof. Dr. Mukhtar Ahmad, Chairman, Higher Education Regulatory Authority (HERA), Peshawar, Mr. Fazle Qadir, Secretary, HERA, Peshawar Mr. Sajid Inam, Chairman, APSUP, Prof. Dr. Chaudhary Abdul Rehman, Rector, Superior University, Lahore, Prof. Dr. Sumaira Rehman, the Vice Chancellor, Sarhad University, Peshawar, Prof. Dr. Salim-ur-Rehman, President, APSUP, KP-Chapter, Mr. Azmat Ali and Executive Member, APSUP, Mr. Sabur Sethi was also present on the occasion.
Presidents of the private sector universities and the Vice Chancellors of public and private universities were among the audience.
On this occasion, certificates were distributed among the participants of the Summit along with Souvenirs to the dignitaries by the Chief Guest.
Earlier, while addressing the gathering, the speakers urged upon the participants to utilize their education as Entrepreneurs, so as to offer jobs to the youth of the province, instead of seeking jobs from others. They said that the Private Education Sector has to share the burden of the government in providing quality education. The Universities should play their role as catalyst for change, they opined. They further emphasized the need to include technology and the latest information tools in the curricula so as to prepare the students to meet the challenges of the modern world.
It is pertinent that 40 delegates from 20 Public and Private Universities of KP participated in the 2-day Summit held in Sarhad University, Peshawar. Training manuals and resources persons were, however, provided by the Superior University, Lahore.
Earlier, a pre-Round Table Meeting of Rectors Conference was also held in the Meeting Room of Sarhad University, under the Chairmanship of its Vice Chancellor, Dr Salim ur Rehman.
Vice Chancellors from different public and private sector universities of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and their nominees participated in the Round Table. They put forward fruitful recommendations for promotion of higher education in the province as well as to raise the quality of education.
The Vice Chancellor thanked the participants for their useful suggestions and termed those beneficial for the promotion of higher education.
