A seminar on “Climate Change” under the title “Faith in Action for Sustainable Climate Resilience” was held here today in Sarhad University, Peshawar in collaboration with Pakistan Council of World Religions (Faith Friends), Peshawar.
The Seminar was addressed by Qari Ruhullah Madani, Chairman, PCWR (FF), Dr. Khalid Khan, Founder & President, Planet Pulse and Chief Advocate Climate Justice, Dr. Hafiz Abdul Ghafoor, Mr. Haroon Sarbdiyal, Prof. Dr. Zafar Iqbal, Dean, Faculty of Life Sciences, Sarhad University and Mr. Maqsood Ahmad Salfi.
Besides faculty members, Professors and Coordinators, a large number of students attended the seminar.
The speakers of the seminar urged upon the participants to focus on saving water and preservation of trees. They said that global warming is a great challenge to the earth, which needs to be addressed with concerted efforts at national and international level. Pakistan is the badly affected country due to frequent floods and afforestation, they added.
Later, the Chairman, PCWR presented shields to the speakers of the seminar.
