An Inter-Universities Project Exhibition/Competition-2023 was held here today in Sarhad University of Science & Information Technology, Peshawar.
Inaugural Ceremony was presided over by the Vice Chancellor, Sarhad University; Prof. Dr. Salim ur Rehman. Closing Ceremony was presided over by the Provincial Minister for Higher Education, Prof. Dr. M. Qasim Jan.
This was a joint effort of all the Nine member Universities of Private Chartered Universities Forum-KP, which include Sarhad University, Abasyn University, City University, CECOS University, Gandhara University, Qurtuba University, Iqra National University, Northern University, and Preston University.
The function was held under the umbrella of Higher Education Regulatory Authority (HERA), KP. The Chairman HERA, Mr. Fazle Qadir participated in the event as Guest of Honour.
This was the first event in the history of KP that all private sector Universities joined hands under one platform to display their Final Year Projects in different disciplines. Each University was allowed to display their 10 best Projects. Thus 90 projects from all the Nine Universities took part in the Exhibition/Competition.
For the convenience of the Jury members, the Competition was classified in four categories which include Engineering and Technology, Life Sciences, Computer Science & IT and Management Sciences & Social Sciences. The Jury members were selected from different public sector Universities having expertise in their relevant fields.
Prof Dr. Qasim Jan gave away prizes to the projects, who secured first, second and third positions in their respective categories.
While talking to the participants, the Chief Guest, Guest and Honour and the Vice Chancellor stressed upon the promotion of Science & Technology. They were of the view that without quality education, we could not compete with the developed nations. They urged upon the students to focus and concentrate on their studies to become more useful citizens of the society. They also advised the teachers to involve their students in creative activities so that they may bring more laurels to the country.
Earlier, the Chief Guest went round project stall of different Universities and appreciated the quality of projects made by the students of final year of various disciplines.
Later on, Chairman, HERA, presented University shield to the Chief Guest.
